Slate Billiard and Gastropub is a great addition to NorthWest shopping centre. If you’re looking for a fun hangout spot with friends where you can play some pool, have a beer, and eat some delicious pub food, this is your place! If you’re looking for a cheap dinner, head there on Thursdays for buy one main and get one free.
Baduzzi is an up scale Italian restaurant on the Wynyard quarter. It’s a great date night spot or for a catch up with friends.
Jervois Steak House is an outstanding restaurant in the heart of Ponsonby road. If you’re a steak connoisseur or looking for a romantic candle lit date night, than this place is for you. Not only do they have incredible steak, the service is top notch and the sides and desserts hit every mark as well.
Rosanna’s Garden Bar & Eatery is a hidden Bali style cocktail bar and eatery in Kingsland. The menu features build-your-own cheese boards and small tapas style plates, with plenty of cocktails and wine to go around.
The Elephant Wrestler is a gastropub in Takapuna just a block away from the beach. With heaps of outdoor seating, its completely dog friendly (even on a rainy day because its covered). The food is not your typical pub food, but far better!
Gusto Italiano is an authentic Italian restaurant in the center of Ponsonby. From great service, delicious food, and prime location, you can’t go wrong with this place. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so it’s perfect for your pup.
The Attic Bar and Restaurant is your typical pub food in Mission Bay. This GastroPub has a little of everything, there’s a dining room, bar area, outside deck for summer and a lounge with a fireplace for those winter nights.
Bodega Eatery is a hidden gem in the center of Henderson Valley. The Mediterranean fusion food mixed with the country side atmosphere is a perfect lunch date spot. The reasonability priced delicious food and the service was just amazing!
Gyoza Bar is a small Japanese restaurant in the center of Ponsonby that specialises in delicious gyoza dumplings. This is a sharing place with many vegetarian and seafood options.
Cleaver & Co in New Lynn is your pretty standard BBQ meat place. If you’re looking for an easy lunch where you can expect some decent but nothing special food, go to Cleaver & Co.
Monsieur Madame is a modern and traditional French bistro restaurant in the center of Mt Eden. They offer brunch, lunch and dinner. The food is absolutely outstanding, but the service definitely needs some work. There’s a small outdoor patio area out the back that’s good for warm days.
Goodhub Eatery is a classic kiwi brunch spot on the Hibiscus Coast highway in Orewa. If you’re looking for a great dog friendly bistro just steps from the beach, this is your place. Food tastes fresh and homemade, and the service is quite average.
Pasta & Cuore is a traditional Italian restaurant in the heart of Mt Eden that specialises in handmade pasta. If you’re looking for a romantic carb filled date night, this is the place for you.
Morepork is BBQ heaven located in Kumeu (and another location in Ponsonby). This Southern style BBQ is great for brunch, lunch, or dinner. This place is not for your plant loving friends, do not take them here. The cozy atmosphere takes you straight into a small Southern town in America.
Little Creatures is a local Hobsonville favourite just a ferry ride from the city. It’s located in a refurbished massive hanger, with indoor and outdoor seating. If you’re looking for a casual place to stop on a nice day for a beer and some nibbles, here’s your place.
Miss Clawdy is an incredible soul food restaurant in Auckland CBD. From the homey rustic atmosphere to the southern comfort food, this place hits all the tops.
Regatta Bar & Eatery is a beautiful and classy seaside restaurant on Takapuna beach. The open plan bar and kitchen and the modern decor makes it for an amazing spot for a date night or after work drinks.
Big Tikka is a pricey contemporary Indian restaurant in Takapuna. Big Tikka has delicious entrees and a great atmosphere with an open kitchen, but the curries were disappointing.
Deli Brothers is a Hobsonville local favourite. If you’re looking for a great coffee and sandwich, here’s your place. The cafe is unassuming place located next to a local produce market.
Elisabeth’s is an adorable little dessert place in Kingsland that serves the BEST hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted. This cozy and old-fashioned cafe is a perfect spot for a date night.
